You may wish to bring two sets of swimwear so that you have a dry set. You will also need some sportswear or comfortable clothing for your mind body class. We will provide you with a robe, slippers, Thai pyjamas and towels. If you are bringing your own footwear for poolside use, please ensure they are non-slip and suitable for wet areas. Our changing rooms are fully equipped with hair dryers, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion and there are private changing cubicles available.
Your room is fully equipped with toiletries, hairdryer, robe and slippers. If you are bringing your own footwear for poolside use, please ensure they are non-slip and suitable for wet areas. Thai pyjamas and spa towels are provided at spa reception. The New Forest has some lovely walks, so you may wish to bring walking shoes and suitable clothing.
SenSpa is a sanctuary of tranquillity, a place to dedicate time to you, away from the demands of everyday life. We respectfully ask you to switch your mobile phone off, enjoy the peace and serenity and just relax.
SenSpa is all about relaxation, pampering and indulgence. Your visit can also be a great way to kick-start a nutritional, fitness or detoxification programme. Make your visit more effective by increasing your water intake and eating fresh, raw fruit and salads at home for a couple of days before your visit. We will be pleased to provide a salad lunch or juices if you are detoxing. Just let us know what you require.
We are relaxed and informal so arrive in whatever you feel good in. It is fine to wear your bathrobe or Thai pyjamas in all areas of the spa including the Zen Garden Restaurant. You will need a swimsuit for the hydrotherapy area. You may wish to bring a pair of non-slip sandals for the wet areas. For guests enjoying a Spa Break, we recommend you change into your robe or Thai Pyjamas in your room.
If you are bringing your own clothes, make sure they are comfortable so that you can easily move and stretch. Alternatively, our Thai Pyjamas are perfectly suitable to wear. Our mind body classes are given in bare feet, so no need for special shoes. You may wish to bring a pair of cosy socks to keep feet warm during relaxation.
Yes, we positively encourage you to eat in your bathrobe at lunchtime so that you have a seamless spa experience. In the evening the dress code is smart casual so if you are visiting on one of our evening spa packages please bring a change of clothes. The spa facilities close at 9pm on weekdays and 8pm on weekends, though the Zen Garden is open until late.
Our treatments are usually well booked in advance, so please be sure to reserve these when you book your Spa Day or Spa Break.
Should you wish to cancel we kindly request 48 hours’ notice. If a Spa Break is cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, the first night payment will be taken as a cancellation charge. Full charges will be imposed for a 'no show'. Cancellation of treatments with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a cancellation fee of 50%.
Arriving late will simply limit the treatment time you receive. If you have not already completed a health questionnaire we will ask you to do this beforehand, so please allow 10 minutes before your treatment time.
Think about what you would like to achieve and how much time you have to spend with us. You may wish to simply relax and relieve tension or you may have areas that need special attention. Perhaps you would like to experience something completely different. Once you have decided what your main aim is, then browse through our treatment menu. The descriptions will explain each treatment and its benefits. If you can't decide, go with your first instinct; it is not usually wrong. Or contact our reservations team on 01590 624467 to guide you through the choices to help you make the best selection. If you are pregnant, have a lymphatic disorder or unmedicated high blood pressure, some treatments will not be suitable for you. Please let us know in advance so that we may best advise you.
Up to 13 weeks we recommend facials, manicure or pedicure. After 13 weeks we recommend you have our pregnancy massage. We do not recommend hydrotherapy throughout your pregnancy. Our Mother to be Spa Day is a fun, informative and relaxing day with classes and treatments suitable at every stage of pregnancy.
Please tell us about any health conditions you may have and ask one of our reservations team for advice on which treatments are most suitable for you and whether hydrotherapy is appropriate. To ensure the best possible care we advise you to consult with your doctor if you have unmedicated high blood pressure, heart condition, have a lymphatic disorder or have any other medical condition.
Please let us know about any special dietary needs prior to your arrival and we will be pleased to make the necessary arrangements for you.
Hydrotherapy has been widely used since BC400. It is a powerful therapy and works on simple principles that promote health and produce a wonderful sense of relaxation and wellbeing. Hydrotherapy greatly alleviates muscular aches, pains and tension, stimulates the circulation and lymphatic systems and boosts the immune system to help fight bacteria and viruses. To receive the most benefit from your hydrotherapy session, just follow these simple instructions. Stay in the hydrotherapy pool, sauna, steam or laconicum only for as long as you feel comfortable. After your heat session, cool down in the ice room, with experience showers or simply under a cold shower. Drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration. Repeat the heat/cold cycle no more than 4 times or whatever is comfortable for you. After hydrotherapy you should feel vibrant and relaxed.
If you are staying in the hotel, please lock your valuables in your room safe. If visiting as a Spa Day guest you may leave your valuables in the locker provided. Don't wear your jewellery in the hydrotherapy area as it will be too hot against your skin and may damage gemstones. If you are wearing jewellery you will need to remove it for your treatments.
Your therapist will respect your privacy at all times. It is best to go to your treatment in bathrobe or your Thai Pyjamas, whichever is the most convenient. If you have neither of these, just come as you are. For full body massages, body scrubs and body wraps your therapist will ask you to remove all your clothing asking you to leave on underpants or give you paper underwear to wear depending on your preference. For facials and head massage you will be asked to remove your top and for women to lower their bra straps.
Yes we do. Most areas of the spa are wheelchair accessible though not all areas. Please let our staff know of any special needs you may have at the time you book so that we can advise you and help you make the most of your day.
Private cubicles are available in our ladies changing rooms. If you are staying on a spa break we advise you change in your room and feel free to walk from your room to the spa in a bathrobe.
