The stones are heated in a bath of water to a temperature of 120 to 150 degrees. The stones themselves are basalt, a black volcanic rock that is perfectly smooth to the touch and absorbs and retains heat well. A total of 47 stones of different shapes and sizes are used during the massage. The deeply warming sensation of each stone, combined with long soothing massage techniques relieves stress and promotes an overall feeling of well being. Heated stones are placed on specific points along your spine, in the palms of your hand and between your toes to improve the flow of energy and rebalance the body and mind.
