As the largest organ in our body, it's important we take good care of our skin. Smoking, pollution and even harsh chemicals contained within some beauty products can damage our skin.
Did you know?
Some cleansers contain Polyethylene glycol to dissolve oil and grease. This petroleum derivative is also used in oven cleaners and can cause premature aging and leave the skin open to bacteria!
SenSpa Therapist and trainer, Lucie Evemy's best beauty tips are all about choosing natural and organic products for your skincare regime.
" The healing powers of handmade natural products is amazing and it does not have to cost the earth. In fact, you can make your amazing skincare products from ingredients found in your own kitchen".
Here is Lucie's recipe for a home-made cleanser you can make straight from your fridge.
Avocado Cleanser
Normal/dry skins
Egg yolk is rich in natural moisturisers and has a high lecithin content which acts as a preservative and emollient. Milk is rich in protein, fats and lactic acid which helps to cleanse and detoxify the skin whilst avocados are high in essential fatty acids and oils to nourish the skin.
Ingredients
-
1 egg yolk
-
1 teaspoon milk
-
1 tablespoon mashed avocado
Mix together with the milk and beat until you have thin cream consistency. Keep refrigerated and use within 3 days.
Apply to face and neck. Gently massage and remove with warm water and a face cloth.
