The first AlphaSphere Deluxe experience in the UK is here at SenSpa - a multi-sensory experience promoting deep relaxation for the mind and body.

Our very own fitness instructor, Marie, tried it for the first time and here’s how her experience went.

What programme did you use?

I used the lilac programme – to stimulate dreams and wisdom, inspiration and meditation.

What were your thoughts of the experience before you had it?

Before I was very sceptical and felt energized after a workout so I didn’t think I would relax.

What happened during your experience?

My experience during the AlphaSphere Deluxe was amazing. The therapist had shown me into the room and selected my chosen programme. Once the therapist closed the door slowly, the lights changed and the small vibrations from the sounds coming through the bed started and began to send me into a completely calm and balanced state, almost like the state of meditation. It was like the feeling that you experience just before you drop off to sleep.

How was your physical and mental state afterwards?

I didn’t realise how relaxed I was. I felt quite tired and I was slightly unsteady when I stood up at first but then went and did one of my best personal training sessions ever. My client loved it, even though he was exhausted afterwards!

Would you recommend this before or after a massage?

I would definitely recommend using this before a treatment. I was speaking to a spa day guest and they said it was amazing before their massage, they did the lilac programme as well and they were so relaxed for their massage. They felt they got the full benefit instead of going in for massage all tense and stiff. This is also more beneficial for the therapist as the AlphaSphere Deluxe will have already done the job of relaxing the muscles before getting to work on particularly tense areas.

How often would you recommend this experience?

I would recommend it once a month, particularly if you have a very active lifestyle, or if you are athletic.
