Spring is an excellent time to begin an exercise programme. Not only do summer clothes provide an incentive to get the body in shape, but the feel-good factor created by sunlight boosts our enthusiasm to begin a health and fitness regime. SenSpa’s luxury gym in Hampshire is perfectly placed to explore the wilds of the New Forest and enjoy an outdoor workout alongside your SenSpa Personal Trainer - we’re with you outdoors, not just in the gym.
The fitness team often schedule their PT’s outside when the weather is as glorious as it often is during the warmer months and this breaks up the arguably mundane routine of the gym.
So to keep it exciting, keep you motivated and utilise as many of our facilities as possible both inside and outside, here’s just some of the ways we intend to use the great outdoors this spring:
With long roads leading to charming villages and open heath land many members join us every Wednesday evening and Sunday morning for a cycle ride around the forest. Bring your bike and we’ll take you on a tour that will get your legs moving and the calories burning. The photo above is of some of the team who completed a 50 mile ride around the Purbecks last summer.

2. Forest Runs
Running on the treadmill for miles and miles can sometimes get a little dull. The beauty of running outside is the scenery keeps your mind occupied and resistance from the wind when running or cycling outdoors means you often burn more calories than if you were indoors.
3. Forest Workouts
Our PT's seek out plenty of places to workout in the New Forest. Whether that means stopping your walk or jog to do some lunges, tricep dips on a bench or wall press ups against a tree.

4. Field Circuits
A lot of research suggest that spending time outside reduces stress and that working out with your fellow members is much more fun than going it alone in the gym. The beauty of circuit training is that it helps you achieve maximum results in minimum time and with a large area to play with, we’ll ensure you get the very best out of this fitness class.

5. Yoga on the Lawn
The hotel has such beautiful grounds it would be a shame not to use these when given the opportunity. Imagine a calming yoga class on the lawn? The fresh forest air is great to boost your mood and increased oxygen helps release the ‘feel-good’ chemical in your brain.
