The Benefits of Thai Therapies

Our world-class Thai spa, has combined state-of-the-art facilities with authentic Thai therapies to rebalance the mind as well as the body.
By combining Eastern and Western philosophies our therapists have created a range of treatments and fitness classes to recharge the body and soothe the soul.
SenSpa offers massages ranging from the traditional Thai massage to a fusion massage that blends Thai, ayurvedic, shiatsu and Swedish techniques.
Traditional Thai massage is the most holistic type of therapy, combining modern scientific knowledge with the disciplines of traditional oriental medicine.

Said to have been founded by Shivago Komarpaj, who was believed to be a physician to Lord Buddha, Thai massage has been practised for more than 2,500 years. The holistic therapy restores physical and energetic balance by focusing on the body’s 72,000 energy – or ‘sen’ lines - working muscle, ligaments, tendons and joints from head to foot.
Sen lines correspond with Chinese acupuncture medications and the ancient medicine practice from Indian Ayurveda.
Other treatments offered include a traditional Thai remedial massage, which uses slow, deep and rhythmic pressure to release pain in muscles and tendons and improve range of movement.
The intense treatment begins with a consultation to establish where the problem lies and how best to treat it and is followed by the massage and the application of a warm poultice filled with Thai herbs. The therapist will also recommend aftercare and simple movement that can be done at home to enhance results.

All of our guests have unlimited access to the gym, where a run or a resistance workout can lead into the de-stress programme.
Key to this is the world-class hydrotherapy pool, where specialised jets and fountains are designed to relax muscles, ease tension, increase circulation and improve joint mobility. The hydrotherapy suite also has a crystal steam room, where guests find themselves energised and invigorated by a large crystal of Bohemian Amethyst, revitalising experience showers ranging from a tropical storm to a bracing seascape, and a detoxifying herbal sauna.
There are also 19 treatment rooms, a beautiful studio with Thai screens and sprung floor, and a boutique.
The Thai influence extends to delicious, healthy food and Zen Garden Restaurant offers classical Thai dishes such as Meang Khum – crispy shrimp, dry coconut, cashews, red onion and lime chilli wrapped in bitter nut leaf, or Ped Ob Samunprai – marinated duck roasted in special Thai herbs.
Whatever you desire to help you relax, soak your every-day stresses away in SenSpa's world class facilities and restore your mind, body and soul.
