Medicinal herbs have been used forever and they might just be what you’re looking for. So to relive you from stress, anxiety, headaches, colds, coughs, indigestion and much more, look out for these helpful plant friends in your garden:
Chamomile
Associated with calm and relaxation, Chamomile is used precisely for this reason. Its infusions soothe anxiety and tension as well as inflammation and irritation of the skin. You’ll often see this plant used in moisturisers and skincare products as well as herbal teas.
Echinacea
This herb could be your new best friend this winter. Used to fight against the common cold, Echinacea strengthens our immune system which seems to feel the strain during the colder months.
Lavender
The scents of this herb instantly calms the body and mind however lavender can also ease pain when applied to cuts and bruises – just when you thought it couldn’t be more wonderful!
Peppermint
This minty plant helps with digestion, gas and headaches.
Aloe Vera
The juice from Aloe Vera plants can be used to soothe sunburn – A common sight during the warm summer months.
