The Garden Pharmacy

Before you reach for the medicine cupboard or pay your local pharmacist a visit to relive a common ailment, take a look in your garden, the cure may be right under your nose.
Medicinal herbs have been used forever and they might just be what you’re looking for. So to relive you from stress, anxiety, headaches, colds, coughs, indigestion and much more, look out for these helpful plant friends in your garden:
Associated with calm and relaxation, Chamomile is used precisely for this reason. Its infusions soothe anxiety and tension as well as inflammation and irritation of the skin. You’ll often see this plant used in moisturisers and skincare products as well as herbal teas.
This herb could be your new best friend this winter. Used to fight against the common cold, Echinacea strengthens our immune system which seems to feel the strain during the colder months.
The scents of this herb instantly calms the body and mind however lavender can also ease pain when applied to cuts and bruises – just when you thought it couldn’t be more wonderful!
This minty plant helps with digestion, gas and headaches.
The juice from Aloe Vera plants can be used to soothe sunburn – A common sight during the warm summer months. Aloe Vera gels can be purchased from stores however for the most effective treatment we recommend the juice from an actual plant. It’s so effective that it’s even being used now in medicine to treat other kinds of skin burns.
Created in conjunction with Camellia Teas, the SenSpa Wellness blend is a vibrant combination of natural herbs and spices, which combine together to create a fragrant and uplifting Thai style herbal blend.
