Protecting The Asian Elephant From Extinction
With only two elephants born for every ten that die in Laos, the Asian elephant, the sacred national emblem of Laos, is under serious threat of extinction.
Over the next 3 years, SenSpa has pledged US $21,000 to The Elephant Conservation Center in Laos to help fund a vital breeding programme to secure the future of these incredible animals.
About the Elephant Conservation Center
The Center based in Laos, was launched in 2011 and is managed by a team of elephant specialists who are working towards the protection of elephants with welfare, vetcare, breeding and mahouts training programmes.
Elephants at the Center are there to rest within 530 hectares of protected forest. They are either waiting to give birth or recovering from an exhausting life in logging or mass tourism industries.
